What was the brief?

The project involved constructing an ISO 8 cleanroom facility, complete with integrated changing rooms, tailored to the needs of a client in the medical moulding sector. A key requirement was the installation of a 5-tonne crane system designed to access all machine locations within the space, ensuring operational flexibility and efficiency.

What were the steps taken to achieve the brief?

We began by reviewing the client’s User Requirement Specification (URS) to ensure a clear understanding of their operational needs. From there, we developed a layout design that aligned with the available space and accommodated the planned locations of all machinery, ensuring optimal workflow and compliance with project constraints.
All heat loads were carefully considered during the selection of air conditioning capacity and the design of air distribution, ensuring optimal climate control and system efficiency.

Were there any challenges along the way?

A key challenge in the project was navigating the local authority approval processes. All technical services—including sprinkler systems and electrical installations—were required to comply fully with these regulatory standards to ensure successful sign-off and operational readiness.

The Final Outcome

Working with our client and local partners, we successfully delivered a high-quality new facility tailored to their operational needs. Following the project’s success, the client returned to engage us in developing expansion plans to support their growing business.
